Many a time when in the dubbing suite or when editing I have relied on a trusty skyline atmos from a sound effects library CD to fill in the odd hole in a story, it frustrated me that I always relied on the same track time after time to give me what I needed due to the lack of suitabilty of other tracks in the collections.
I have put together here a collection of sound effects for you to use when you are editing, they are copyright free for you to use as you wish... If you could drop me a short email at em <at> preseli <dot> com, to let me know that you are using one of my tracks I would appreciate it... and if you can give me a programme credit, then that would be cool too!
The fx tracks are supplied as BWF (Broadcast Wav Files) .wav files, 24bit 48K sampling. They were recorded directly onto digital media on location and have not been altered or edited. The are deliberatly low level, so they will need little tweeking in the edit/dub, i.e. they should be roughly at the correct level for your edit as they are.
As these files are encoded 24bit, to listen to them on a normal PC you may need to use QUICK TIME PLAYER to open the files.
The tracks have been tested and found to work fine on Avid.
You will find idents on most tracks either at '0' or '10' seconds
I will add to this collection as time permits, if you have a specific requirement for sound fx then please contact me and I would be happy to discuss your requirements and how I may be able to help you out. Calling my mobile is probably the best way to contact me.
